Early Encounters: 2008 to 2015

  • DC vs RCB, IPL 2008: In Delhi, DC played RCB for the first time in the 17th IPL 2008 match. Rahul Dravid’s team lost against DC by 10 runs, headed by Gautam Gambhir, who scored 86. The top-order RCB batsmen were dismissed by Glenn McGrath, who took four wickets. DC defeated RCB by five wickets in the 43rd game of the season. DC finished the run chase under the leadership of captain Virender Sehwag (47), despite RCB’s total of 154, which was topped by Shreevats Goswami (52).
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2009: In the 14th match of the IPL’s second edition, RCB and DC faced off in South Africa’s St George’s Park. Tillakaratne Dilshan’s 67 not out helped DC, captained by Virender Sehwag, reach the 150-run target and win the match by 6 wickets.  In the rivalry between DC and RCB, Game 52 of the season was legendary since RCB defeated DC in their opening encounter. DC chose to bat first and managed to score 134, but RCB easily won by 7 wickets after a run chase.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2010: The two clubs played their 20th game of the season at Bengaluru.  Dinesh Karthik’s DC won the game by 17 runs, thanks to an unbeatable half-century from Kedar Jadhav. DC defeated RCB by 37 runs on their home field when they played them in the 35th game in Delhi. Paul Collingwood won the player of the match with a score of 75*, leading the DC.
  • DC vs RCB, IPL 2011: In the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League, DC and RCB only faced one another in the 30th game at Delhi. Virat Kohli led the run chase with 56 runs off 38 balls as Royal Challengers Bangalore won by three wickets.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2012: The fifth IPL 2012 match pitted the Delhi Capitals against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB, led by AB de Villiers (64*), scored 157 after being invited to bat first. In contrast, DC lost seven wickets and scored 137 runs in 20 overs, giving RCB a 20-run victory. In the 67th game, the RCB won by 21 runs over DC. Despite being asked to bat first, RCB managed to reach 215 runs owing to an outstanding 204-run partnership between Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.  In contrast, DC could score 194 runs in 20 overs.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2013: The 21st game of the season was played between the two teams. After a 152-run innings, RCB and DC were led to a super over. Bengaluru won the match with a score of 15/0 in the super over, while Delhi scored 11/2. Virat Kohli’s 99 helped RCB defeat DC by four runs in the 57th game.
  • DC vs RCB, IPL 2014: The second IPL 2014 match between DC and RCB took place in Sharjah.  DC played an innings of 145 after being invited to bat first. Virat Kohli scored 49* and Yuvraj Singh scored 52* as RCB completed the run chase. Bengaluru hosted the 38th meeting between the two franchises. RCB, captained by Yuvraj Singh (68*), batted first and scored 186. At 170, DC was forced back to the pavilion, allowing RCB to win by 16 runs.

2015 to Recent Matches

  • DC vs RCB, IPL 2015: By defeating Delhi by 10 wickets on their field in Delhi, RCB once again overpowered DC.  DC was bowled out for 95 in 18.2 overs after being invited to bat first. The RCB won thanks to a 99-run stand-in partnership between Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli. This season, Yuvraj Singh, a former RCB player, joined DC.  Rain caused their subsequent match to end without a result.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2016: DC defeated RCB in the eleventh IPL 2016 match. Virat Kohli (79) led the RCB, who were invited to bat first and achieved 191 after losing five wickets.  With Quinton de Kock’s incredible 108-run innings and strong backing from Karun Nair (54), DC stormed into the field to win the match against RCB by a margin of 7 wickets.  Virat Kohli struck an unbeaten 54 to help Bengaluru overcome Delhi by 6 wickets in game 56.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2017: In the fifth game of the 2017 IPL, RCB faced DC.  With a magnificent knock of 69, Kedar Jadhav helped RCB win by 15 runs. DC lost the game as a result of their poor batting. Both teams played in Delhi in Game 56 of 2017, with RCB defeating DC by 10 runs once more.   • RCB vs DC, IPL 2019: The 20th and 46th games of the season were played between RCB and DC.  DC recovered to win both games, first by taking four wickets and then by scoring sixteen runs. With six wickets down, Shreyas Iyer led DC to 152 in 18.5 overs after RCB was swept out for 149 after batting first. DC defeated RCB by a margin of 16 runs in game 46 after scoring 187 runs and holding them to 171.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2020: In 2020, fans witnessed DC defeat RCB in games 19 and 55. DC defeated RCB by 59 runs in the 19th match after batting an innings of 196 and holding them to 137. Bengaluru scored 152 runs in the first innings in the 55th game. With the bat, Ajinkya Rahane (60) and Shikhar Dhawan (54), who lost 4 wickets, made the difference and finished the run chase of 154 in 19 overs.
  • DC vs RCB, IPL 2021: In the twenty-second game, RCB won by one run over DC. RCB reached a manageable total of 170 thanks to an outstanding performance of 75 not out from AB de Villiers. Shimron Hetmeyer and Rishabh Pant extended the innings despite a weak start, but Rishabh Pant’s final-ball attempt was heartbreakingly unsuccessful.   • DC vs RCB, IPL 2022: Mumbai hosted the 27th game of the 2022 Indian Premier League.  With a decisive knock of 66 from Dinesh Karthik, Bengaluru triumphed by 16 runs. Delhi was bowled out for 173 runs, even though David Warner scored 66 in DC’s run chase of 190.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2023: In game 20 of the 2023 season, the two clubs faced off.  When asked to bat first, RCB amassed 174 runs while keeping DC to 151, winning the match by 23 runs. With Virat Kohli leading the team with 55 runs, closely followed by Mahipal Lomror (54*) and Faf du Plessis (45), Bengaluru lost despite a promising start. Philadelphia’s Phil Salt opened the game with 87 runs, helping his team reach 187, putting Delhi ahead.
  • RCB vs DC, IPL 2024: RCB was handed the chance to bat first in the 62nd IPL 2024 match. They dismissed DC guys at 140 and produced 187. They lost the game by 47 runs as a result of their subpar batting performance.
  • DC vs RCB, IPL 2025: DC played RCB in the 24th and 46th games of the 2025 Indian Premier League. However, it was KL Rahul’s game-winning 93-run performance that helped DC win the 24th game by 6 wickets.
