Match Overview: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Mumbai Indians Match Scorecard
RCB, batting first, got off to a shaky start with the early dismissal of Phil Salt. However, a solid partnership between Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli stabilized the innings. Kohli played yet another masterclass knock, anchoring the innings with perfect control. Brief cameos from Liam Livingstone and Rajat Patidar in the death overs pushed RCB’s total past the 200-run mark, ending their innings at a competitive score.
In response, Mumbai Indians had a turbulent start. Skipper Rohit Sharma departed early, but a fiery counterattack by Tilak Varma and some late hits from Hardik Pandya kept MI in the chase. However, quick successive wickets in the final overs, including a double blow in the 19th over (Mitchell Santner and Deepak Chahar), derailed their hopes. Despite a spirited effort, Mumbai Indians fell short of the target in a nail-biting finish.
